[blindkid] Interesting heartbreaking stroy from Tampa Florida

This situation happened 2 years ago. Kris was headed to our state convention. His cane and other things were taken, not "lost". In fact, they caught the guy because he was stupid enough to use Kris' cellphone to harass the mugger's girlfriend, who reported him! The money was for the student division pizza party (college age). Granted, Kris has a small build, but he is not defenseless! The guy caught him off guard and stayed behind him. Kris is well trained in his sport (judo?) and got in quite a few good blows himself. Kris said the worst part of the whole thing was that he also had an antique ship's bell that belonged to his grandfather that was taken. Kris sails, and is preparing for an around the world sail. Really neat guy.

I hope the community service with DBS will give the guy more empathy and understanding of the blind.
