We ran into this last year. When questioned we were told that it was a  
national date for the administration of the Braille PSAT and one  other. We had 
a Braille transcriber, so it wasn't that one wasn't available on  Saturday. 
We weren't happy, but dealt with it. All his teachers were sent an  email & 
yes, he was still responsible for material in class that day.  Finding a 
quiet space was a challenge. Not the same as a Saturday when the  school is 
empty except for those testing.

We have learned  that the PSAT will only be given in Braille on the
Wednesday before the  regular Saturday test day.  This means that blind
students have to miss  school to take the test.  Have others encountered
this  requirement?
