Good Morning!
I must say that I took a large pause before posting the original e-mail containing the WiiCane article
put out by the Jewish Guild for the Blind. This list is gaining a reputation for negative comments aimed
at parents and while there are many parents that follow this list, there are many choosing not to post
for fear of being 'slammed' by the few that choose to degrade. I find it disturbing that some of
you have chosen to denigrate a device of which you have no 'real' scientific information.
As a word of caution, it is quite possible to offer your opinion and suggestions without being negative
and degrading. We should be able to share information on this list in a friendly informative format.
For those of you who wish to follow the research on this project, you may do so at

WiiCane blog allows participants and others to follow progress of a federally-funded R&D project entitled, "WiiCane: an accelerometer-based diagnostic and real-time feedback tool for therapeutic play in mobility training for blind and deaf-blind children." This 24-month project is being carried out by Touch Graphics, Inc. of New York City, under funding from United States Department of Eduction, Office of Special Education Programs.
Take care and have a great Wednesday!
