Hi, I am Marsha. Mother of 3. I also have Aniridia, with glaucoma, and a
sloo of other conditions. Currently I am total, but have had different
degrees of vision. My son who is 13 also has Aniridia.

Hello to all, 

My name is cheree. My daughter and I are both legally blind. We were both
born with a rare eye condition called Aniridia (no iris). Along with
aniridia I was unfortunate to have congenital glaucoma, cataracts, and
nystagmus. My daughter thankfuly just deals with aniridia and nystagmus. We
both go through our share of road trips to opthomologists and specialists
quit often as I'm sure most of you can relate to. In 2009 imy left eye was
removed due to glaucoma. Its definately a disease that is way more powerful
than most people realize. Luckily I couldn't see out of that eye since I was
15 so I didn't really have a hard time letting go lol.  We reside in
Greensburg, IN. I've been a member of the indiana NFB for almost 2 years
now. I try to be as much involved in the parents division as I can be. I'm
also a full time member of the Greensburg Lions Club so I'm pretty busy
trying to keep commited to both. Just wanted to hop on here and introduce
myself and hope to get to know a lot of you better. I'm not able to get on
this listserv often so if you'd like to privately get ahold of me at anytime

     Here is how I would multiply 54*63. Note that this will appear properly

on a screen, but may not be very understandable with just speech.

     54

   3240  Note the zero in the units position. This is a place holder and 
keeps the columns aligned.

The text explanation is to multiply the top number by each digit of the one 
below.  54 has been multiplied by 3 giving 162. On the next line, put a zero

below the 2. This is very important since it keeps the columns aligned. Some

teachers have students leave a blank, but this can cause problems. Next 
multiply 54 by 6 giving 324. Remember you are really multiplying 54 by 60, 
so the number for the second line is 3240. Next, put a dashed line unber the

numbers and add them up giving 3402. When carrying a number, it is a 
necessary skill to keep the digit(s) in your head until they are added in 
the next column. My Father who taught mathematics at the high school and 
college level taught me this. Hope this makes sense.
