Hi Everyone,
I just received this information from the
presenter of one of the exciting workshops that
will be held at the NOPBC Parents Seminar at
Convention. Hope to see you there.
Early literacy is helping children beginning in
infancy build critical exploratory, book
sharing, and language skills that pave the way
for reading braille, print, or both when they are
older. In the 11:00 session, The Right to
Literacy for Young Blind/VI Children, presenters
Ann Burgess and Barbara Bailey offer content
suitable for parents, teachers, and early
interventionists of infants, toddlers, and
primary grade children who are blind, or have
multiple disabilities. This is not a session on
how to teach reading; instead, we will help
participants build a strong foundation for literacy development.
