Steven

Many people are asking about free options...it is a free option and with
free options you will not have something that runs as well as Microsoft
office.

When children are young, and just learning key boarding, it will work well
with the basics, just as free talking software such as NVDA (see
blindgeteducated.blogspot.com if you would like more info on that too) .
When they advance in skills, you really need to go with Microsoft products.
They have put millions into their software and they work with companies such
as Freedomscientific to make things compatible , hence the reason it works
so well with talking software.

Open office and NVDA are free options to get kids going or get anyone going
who does not need to do something sophisticated.
