Hi Sonya,

Amber Hall is now the president of the Indiana Parents of Blind
Children. I think her daughter is a dual reader.

We have recently published a new reading media assessment meant for
visually impaired children who can see print. It is called the
NRMA--National Reading Media Assessment--and can be accessed at
http://www.teachblindstudents.org/.

Also on that site is our brand new free downloadable book on teaching
dual media, called Integrating Print and Braille: A Recipe for Literacy.

Last but not least, you might want to check out Joe Cutter's book,
Independent Movement and Travel in Blind Children, available at
http://secure.nfb.org/ecommerce/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=47&ph=&keywords=&recor=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=

Hope these resources are helpful.

Carol
