[blindkid] 6 yr old having trouble staying focused while reading

I think behavior goals would be appropriate. I had a few issues with my son, and they tried a reward system. If he could stay still, focused, and/or follow directions for, say 5 minutes, he could get a sticker on his personal chart. The good behavior time gradually increased. When he earned 10 stickers, he could trade it in for some kind of reward, like maybe line leader, a small piece of candy, or mom could get him a new book, or trip to a favorite restaurant ie McDonalds. This worked really well, and he didn't need to do it for long. Another thing, he loved to help the teacher out, so if she said that she needed help with an assignment, he would gladly do it. If he was told that he had to do something, he was less likely to want to comply. It was just a matter of saying things the right way. "Could you help me out with this? I could really use your help."
