[blindkid] OT for 7th grader

Heidi,

If OT still fits into her daily schedule at school w/o disrupting her other
course work too much you could consider using fine motor skills for
functional writing tasks (handwriting and computer typing) and use of
organizational tools. They are goals that both a VI and OT teacher could
implement into daily work and you could implement at home.

Use adaptive math tools- rules, compass, etc.

Use adaptive scientific tools (microscopes, scales, stop watches,
thermometers, PH Meters, metric measurement devices, data charts and graphs)

Use office tools to collate and organize classroom materials, paper clips,
stapler, three hole punch and binders

Using computer software to complete assignments (Creating & Organizing
documents, folders, etc on computer, shortcuts, etc.)

Signature

Keyboard Instruction- touch typing

I have attached a Keyboarding checklist and a link to a great ILS checklist
from the Michigan Department of Education Low Incidence Outreach website.
