[blindkid] Audio reading book for Library

Hello Trudy,
I would write an email to the teacher - so it is in writing - stating that
you will agree if all the print readers are also allowed to "listen" to
audio books. Otherwise, I would call another IEP meeting and tighten up the
IEP so that it clearly states that "all" his reading material is provided in
braille. This is not the time to be encouraging students to enjoy books,
they do already enjoy books. In 6th grade we are encouraging them to "read"
to feed that enjoyment. This is the time to build speed and skill. I would
positively "NOT" allow this to continue.
J
I wish I lived in your state, I'd happily go with you to that next IEP
meeting. :)
Warmly,
Heather field

So last night at parent teacher conference I find out that they have been
allowing our son in six grade to do all audiobooks. Reason why I don't know.
The language arts teacher said will you please consider allowing him to do
this after I stated that this was concerning to me. Because he says I was
reading to be enjoyable. Excepting all thoughts on this. Mine is No No No.
Must have Braille under fingers. If their concern is slowness and enjoyment
the only way to get that is with repetition.
