Hi,
I'm a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. The Viseo Book is available to the students via Quota Funds so you can check with your son's TVI about getting him one to try out BUT it has some limitations....and problems.
- for distance viewing, it can only look at what is in front if the machine. So, if you need to move the camera from one board to another, you have to actually move the whole machine.
- I've had to sent them in for a lot of repairs to the bar that the light is on.....you have to turn the bar around for distance and around for near..the light come on for near and goes off for distance but that breaks and ends up doing the opposite....It has auto focus, that also stops working....sometimes the bar gets a short in it so the light keeps going off.

The good things about the device is
- it is available via Quota funds.
- it does well for enlarging near desk work.

Merry-Noel Chamberlain, TVI,
