In Elementary we always had IEP meetings during reg Ed teacher's planning, they always had a backup plan if she was still needed in meeting. One year principal covered, my daughter thought this was cool. I also allowed the reg Ed teacher to leave when main IEP was done.

I suppose I was a little irritated because they agreed on the time, and then the TVI told me that it had to change because the school principal did not want to have a substitute in the class while my son's teacher was at the IEP. Somehow this was possible last year but not this year. Of course, I would not want to disrupt other students' schedules but that wasn't the reason why the school changed the time at the last moment. This school is a huge bureaucracy and very inflexible unlike the IEP team.
