Hi Marianne,

For cane and guide dog users, we definitely recommend that they use the
Buzzclip together with what they are currently using. The Buzzclip
however does a lot more than just offering protection from obstacles
waist and above. Since it is wearable and hands free it helps in a lot
of situations. I Cced the mailing list when I replied to Allison just
now please take a look at that to get a better understanding of some of
the other use cases with the Buzzclip.

With regards to the visually impaired individuals that does not use a
cane, it is more for people with loss of peripheral vision or have large
blind spots. Examples are individuals with RP, Glaucoma, diabetic
retinopathy. A lot of these individuals have sufficient focal vision
that they do not require a cane or a guide dog to make their way around.
How ever they do very often run into obstacles or people that are out
side of their field of vision or in their blind spot. No matter how
careful you are, it is simple not feasible to be scanning at you blind
spot every single moment. To these individuals, the Buzzclip would serve
as an early warning. I apologize for not clarifying this in the initial
email.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions!

Best Regards
Bin Liu
