The NFB of Hawaii has started a Zoom meeting on Saturdays for blind kids to
read short books or stories to each other. It’s 30 minutes. If the books
are really short, they can read 2, if a little longer, they read only one.
Once the child has read the books, an older child or adult will ask
questions about location of the story, main characters, and what happened,
We started it 2 3 weeks ago. It has been a very positive experience for
both kids and adults. If a child struggles with a certain braille sign, the
adult can help. This is a fun way to encourage blind kids to read braille.
Please consider joining us next Saturday, October 17, at 10:30 AM Hawaii
(1:30 PM Pacific, 4:30 PM Eastern time) for Keiki Talk Story
