That was also part of the settlement above and beyond the payments to 
individuals. However, the suit was brought as a class action suit and 
payments to individuals benefit members of the class as a whole. They also 
help to mitigate the individual damages and humiliation that blind users 
experience every day on the Internet when they can't access web sites 
equally. payments to individuals experiencing discrimination under the ADa 
and state law are granted by California statute.
