Hi Dan,
I use Firefox unupdated and find it just fine still, I'm not sure what
I'm missing in the inaccessible updated version but don't imagine it's
significant.
One browser I have heard recommended for accessibility is waterfox. I
haven't used it myself but understand it's like a stripped down
version of Firefox. It's available at www.waterfox.org
