Hi Brandon, thanks for your email.

What we are developing is technology that can be incorporated into a range of different surfaces to mimic the sensation of touch. Currently we are at a very early stage of development, but the end result is for this technology to be able to be incorporated into your phone’s display, computer’s display, or tablet’s display to reproduce an instant tactile representation of any visual content.

As mentioned in the video, we are using a range of different technologies to accomplish this. The first is ultra sound, this will enable the display to change how smooth or harsh it feels to the user. The second is electrical impulses. This will enable the display to reproduce tactile Dots, lines and different shapes. And the last is Haptic Feedback. This last component of EyeSyght will enable the display to mimmic the sensation of depth.

This technology will give us the opportunity to feel a map on a screen in real time, feel any type of graph, chart, diagram, sketch, or picture that is being display visually. And the last part, is that it will also be able to reproduce braille.

My best description, is like TV for your fingers.

The idea came to me since working with visual content within the STEM fields is painfully slow, but I am sure that as we progress, more uses will become apparent.

I hope I was able to answer your questions, but please feel free to ask anything else that you would like to know.

Thanks for the interest, and please keep sharing and liking.
Santi
