[BlindMath] ti84 question for higher level math class

Hi list,
I was told by one of my math professors that my talking ti84
calculator isn't good for higher level math class like calculus. Is
this true?
Let me give some background. I am studying computer science and I will
need to complete calculus 1 for my major. My current math level is
advanced algebra.
Please let me know your thoughts on this manner.
