[BlindMath] Chemical formulae on websites

Hello all,
the question is perhaps a bit off-topic because it is not directly
about mathematics; but maybe someone here on the mailing list still
knows an answer and can help me.
What is the best way to display chemical formulae on web pages so that
the chemical formulae can be read by a screen reader? How well do
screen readers like NVDA and Jaws work with ChemML, or can MathJax
also display chemical formulae?
I would be very happy to receive answers!
