What you type in would appear in the 2d Braille display as Braille math code. At least, in "math mode." It would take too many dots to get print letters up, though, some symbols, you could draw, if you wanted, like radical sign, which is very different in form in Braille, and you might need to just draw that. Possibly, the computer could have some OCR in it to recognize the symbols you are drawing, like fraction lines, and such and put that in the final result.

Just curious: if the device is not for Braille, then how would the typed characters appear? Surely not in print :).
