Our local Library system is turning 75, and they want to know what we want
our future libraries to look like for services. That is why I am forwarding
this on.
Since WTBBL services are downgraded, I thought we might also tell our local
library service what we need and want in our future local libraries.

You may have heard that we're turning 75 this year. We're celebrating, and
also planning for the future. As part of our process of developing a 5-year
Strategic Plan and a 10-year Facilities Master Plan, we want to hear from
you. We'll be conducting community conversations across the district in
July. Please register and attend one of these events and/or take our

*Levy 2025: Information for voters*

On August 5, voters will decide on a levy lid lift for FVRLibraries. Under
state law, the library’s property tax revenue can only grow by 1% per year,
plus a small adjustment for new construction, unless voters approve a lid
lift.

Since 2011, the levy rate has dropped from $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed
value to less than $0.27 in 2025. Meanwhile, staffing, materials,
technology, and maintenance costs have been rising 4–5% each year. Funding
has not kept pace with these rising costs or the growing demand for
services.

and under at select locations around Vancouver, including Cascade Park
Community Library and Vancouver Community Library through August 8. Battle
Ground Public Schools, Evergreen Public Schools, and Woodland Public
