[humanser] Human Services division grant continuing educationhours?

Hello,

The problemm is that each state must individually certify that the presenter
has been awarded a state CEU provider number. These are not especially
difficult to obtain and agencies/organizations may obtain CEU provider
status. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) or even this
Division might obtain such certification, applying for it in individual
states. This is how the large, national training programs do this. For our
Division with a single event each year the labor would be prohibitive.
However, if the Division decided to provide several telephone conferences
annually that provided CEUs, the situation might change. Let's talk more
about this as it sounds interesting.

Hi J. D.,

I see what you mean about states having different requirements for CE
hours. Having said that, couldn't the division offer the hours and
give each member the responsibility for asking his/her state whether
the presentation meets its criteria? If the individual state
certifies the hours, great! If not, nothing is lost, besides having
to make up the required hours elsewhere, since the members were at the
convention, regardless of getting the CE hours. Am I missing
something?
