Alyssa,
Why do you have to use a remote desktop? I thought this was only for
accessing a pc from another work site or at home.
I mean, like, if you had to log into work servers to telework from home.
But if you work only at the work site, then why remote desktops?
Maybe I don't understand them and their use. I use the windows platform and
Jaws, so I am familiar with that sort of technology.

Thank you for that, Dotty. And thank you to all those who responded- I
really appreciate the support.

A huge challenge with getting my technology up and running is also that the
agency uses remote desktops. JAWS does and other screen readers do not work
with it because, from my understanding, remote desk tops are based off of a
projected image from a host computer. It's kind of confusing to me, but I
know JAWS won't work with it unless you buy the remote desktop access
feature from Freedom Scientific. I don't know if the internet screen reader
Dotty sent would work, though. It would be so exciting if it did! I will let
you all know!

Best,
Alyssa

Hello, Elyssa,
Try this:
Go to "run" and type:
http://satogo.com/.
http://satogo.com/
which will get you to System Access's System Access to Go, a free
internet-based screen reader. This works until you close the internet.
