Subject: [humanser] Invitation to Join the National Federation of the Blind
Human Services Division's Legislation and Advocacy Committee

Greetings, members of the Human Services Division and our fine listserv,

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Sarah Meyer, and I am
excited and honored to be serving as a member of the Board for the Human
Services Division. As the chair person for the Legislation and Advocacy
committee, I am reaching out to our listserv to invite you to participate in
the efforts of this committee. One of the issues that we are considering
addressing is the inaccessibility of the American Social Work Board's
testing and licensing materials. Of course, I am well aware that barriers
to equal access exist in other spheres as well, and that is why I need you,
our members, to provide input so we can collaborate and tackle the most
pertinent issues that those in the field of human services are facing.

I am proposing a phone conference for those who are interested in
discussing thoughts, concerns, questions, suggestions, etc., related to
legislation and advocacy in human services to be held on Sunday, October 25,
at 5:30 EST. As the time/date draws closer, I will send out a
reminder/confirmation along with call-in instructions. For now, just know
that you are invited and that you are welcome, and your thoughts matter, so
please block some time on your calendar on 10/25/15.

Also, if you have any questions/concerns or simply wish to inform me of your
interest in joining this committee, please feel free to email me off-list or
to call me (please see contact information below).

All the best,

Sarah
