[humanser] organizing information, more work-related questions

Hi Ericka,

I like "creative"décor and your rug sounds cute to me. . Oh yeah, just in
case you can't figure out how to put on your socks, do like I do most of the
time (when I'm not at work), wear sandles! I'm wearing teel colored flip
flops.

I get where my employer is coming from and at the same time it's a bit
frustrating. The last time I worked I had more vision and was able to use
more visual organizing skills. I'm learning some things that perhaps some of
you on this list consider "old hat". It's stressful learning a new job and
also having to learn unfamiliar ways to do some familiar and some unfamiliar
things.

I have to be careful about the "old tapes" I occasionally hear in my head,
that is, I am accustom to being under the microscope and I'm all too
familiar with a former employer setting me up for failure; laughing when I
was unable to do one thing in particular and it's hard to ditch those tapes.

Ericka, I'll see you at the flip flop store. Lol.

From,
Lisa

I understand Jazmin, The confidentiality issue and everything I understand.
Still, there's a point where efficiency and accommodating have to be
considered as well. If they're going to ban thumb drives, laptops, then
nobody should be able to use cell phones at fares to make calls or anything
else. Are they going to give staff their own company issued cell phone? A
small agency like she's working at I'm sure would not. I have to work with
state program here in Wisconsin for coordinating transportation and some
other things. The nurse was here Wednesday with her laptop and refused to
even take the paper that I gave her with my medications list on it. I think
the laptop was a company one.

I just need to vent hear you guys will understand because were all in the
social services Rome. Why do places hire people with no social skills
whatsoever? I almost had a cat fight with his nurse because she just
couldn't comprehend that blind people could safely walk on a kitchen rug in
front of their sink. It's easily adapted so it doesn't slip and slide but
she wouldn't even hear of that. She just thought I was going to say yeah
sure we can put this rug up and never use it. I gave her some BS about
needing it to orientate myself in the kitchen. It's just a red and white
plaid throw rug that makes it look pretty for sighted people for the most
part and it gives me a softer place to stand on while I do dishes. I have
high arches and standing in a long time hurts. The poor social worker wanted
to kill her too and tried so hard to stifle her laugh at my response. The
stupid nurse bought it though and I won! This nurse just talked down to me
like I was five and didn't know whether I could put on my own socks or not.
Are people trained to talk to caregivers like this too? It's insulting!
If i am sitting before you dressed & my totally blind bf isn't my caregiver
then how did it happen? Why not ask if there's anything that I have trouble
with instead of going through the list of every part of my body and piece of
clothing?

Unless one has unlimited data plan and other such resources, I would not use
my cell phone.

paper and pen, that is why, the organization wants the forms to be

Could you save stuff on an external drive?
