Last night I was listening to some of the Convention Highlights from this year's convention and it turns out that Cerner who's software I am having trouble with is one of the manufacturers that the NFB is now pursuing legally for not abiding by the Americans with Disabilities law. I almost fell off my chair!

Does anyone know if there is someone I should speak to about my challenges with this product?

Ginny

I was pretty overwhelmed when I took the bachelors exam a few years ago. I am easing late past with just using a large print exam and extra time. That was the dumbest thing I did. I chose this because I don't have computer skills and the last time I used Zoom text or speech I couldn't get the computer print big enough to be comfortable. I totally understand your situation Shari! I personally don't trust a reader and scribe to be accurate. I like Merrys' suggestions.if you get to choose the reader and scribe, that's one thing but there's so many soft variables here when you don't get to pick that I don't feel you're being tested for your knowledge. You're being tested on whether you can work with someone in a team no matter how competent they are.

Mary,
Have you heard of anyone having A person to read each question to them?
When I requested Zoom text I thought I would be OK but after reading so
many questions and I didn't even get to finish the test because there was
170 questions I was overwhelmed and my eyes we're so tired. Thank you so
much for replying to my email!

Asked Ford Zoom text with the speech and make sure it is written that
way on the accommodation letter. If they cannot give you zoom text with
speech then request that you use zoom text and jaws. Both programs! If
there is problems with this request either or please let us know ASAP! Do
not do not except any accommodations that you are not comfortable with.
It's easier to turn them down and get a hold of the federations legal
department and then they will be able to help you to acquire the
accommodations that you need.

Hello All, last week I went in to take my exam for my CSW, I used Zoom
text and I was given extra time. Unfortunately I did not pass the test, it
was not because of the lack of knowledge but mostly because I had a hard
time reading the questions because I read slow and also I ran out of time.
The zoom text did not have the reader component so I had to read all of the
questions myself, if anyone on the list has taken this exam and uses other
programs other than some text can you please offer me some suggestions? I
was very disappointed that I did not pass but I am going to retake the exam
in three months so I am working on accommodations. All suggestions are
welcome I appreciate your time thank you!
