My initial reaction to this message was indignation because I saw the posts and archived them myself...

But upon further inspection, I find that in my haste to assemble the files I mentioned yesterday, I made two mistakes:

1. I quoted posting times of June, 2016. In fact, they were June, 2010.

2. The files posted were the DSM IV, not the DSM 5.

My sincere apologies to all for any confusion... surely including JD himself, to whom I just emailed message #1 of his own file set before realizing the above mistakes.

Hello:

Clarification: the DSM-5 was never posted on this list.

I did send out copies of my converted to MS Word copy to individuals some time ago; however, when the ethics issue was raised I ended that activity.

My best suggestion is to go to Bookshare and download your own copy. Converting it to a Word document is as easy as going to FILE, SAVE AS, & choosing your favorite file type. Alternately, you may highlight everything, CONTROL + A and then paste it into an empty Word document.

Good luck.

JD

Hi:

Got my copy from BookShare. It is an easy download away.

For my own purposes I copied it into a MS Word documents, then into chapters.

Just a few easy steps.

Greetings,

I missed the remarks about a digital copy from APA. I wrote to APA about two years ago and never got an answer. Is there someone you could suggest at APA who could answer our request? Also, is it easily searchable? (I have a copy of the DSM-5 on my Victor Reader Stream, and it's wonderful if you want to settle down for some bedtime reading, but not very searchable.)

I have discussed this issue earlier on the site and was told that absolutely the site owner cannot allow us to violate copyright. I understand that, but it's still hard without something more searchable.
