Newsom Review 2019

*	Governor Newsom has spent his first year in office grandstanding for the cameras instead of focusing on the true issues plaguing our state.
*	Governor Newsom and the Democrat supermajority have led California into severe crises across the state – an unprecedented homelessness crisis, an out of control cost of living, lack of affordable housing, and a failing education system.
*	Governor Newsom and the Democrats have failed California.  Under their watch, the California Dream is no longer a reality for millions.  
*	Governor Newsom deserves an “F” for the biggest issues facing our state – homelessness, cost of living, education and our transportation infrastructure.  

No Party Preference Voters/Registration Mailer

*	Recently, voters who have chosen “no party preference” received a letter asking them to choose a ballot among those available to them
*	If you believe you are a registered Republican, you should not have received this letter.  Please check your registration status and re-register as a Republican.
*	If you would like to vote in the Republican primary, you must be a registered Republican.  
*	Voters who received this mailer are ‘no party preference’ voters and therefore not eligible to vote in the Republican presidential primary

Taking the Fight to Democrats

*	We must all work together to register as many Republicans as possible, and to support our candidates and their campaigns to take back as many state and federal legislative seats and re-elect the President 
*	The California Republican Party is rebuilding in the state from the ground up.    Our fundraising is off the charts, we’re recruiting new voters every day, and the candidates we will have on the ballot in March are some of the best we’ve seen across the state in decades.  
*	The momentum is building for Republicans in California.  Californians are realizing that the Democrats have failed them – and we need new leadership who will truly focus on those issues that can help people and their families thrive in our state.

Motor Voter/DMV Plagued by Serious Issues

*	Recent reports indicate hundreds, if not thousands, of voters were unknowingly re-registered against their wishes by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
*	We encourage all voters to check their registration status 
*	This is yet another example of the mismanagement of our state resources by Governor Newsom and the Democrats.

Wildfire Prevention/PG&E

*	Recently, two Republican state lawmakers - Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Tehama) and Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) - who represent the Town of Paradise and Camp Fire survivors, announced their intent to introduce legislation that will help prevent future wildfires and Public Safety Power Shutoffs by PG&E.  
*	The lawmakers will introduce legislation to direct additional funding into utility infrastructure upgrades and forest fuel reduction projects – two of the leading factors in catastrophic wildfires and cited by PG&E in declaring PSPS events.
*	The legislation will:

*	temporarily pause the state’s renewable power mandates until infrastructure and vegetation management conditions are improved;
*	require that savings from this temporary relief may only be used by Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) to harden the grid and reduce forest fuels. 
*	Freeze executive compensation at IOUs and any proposed bonuses will be put on hold
