The other thing that I offer and anyone can buy this at
Bath and Bodyworks is a very small hand sanitizer that comes with a little case with a lanyard that you can attach to your cane or bag. It’s really small so it resembles many of the charms that we put on canes. They come in many different sense and even have manly flavors :-)
You can buy similar product at Walmart. But I have found that the ones at Walmart have a That does not always stay shut. Just another idea.
On another subject, what books have any of you recommended to clients to read and why?

I have a really nice boss who feels bad that I’m sick and out of work till Friday. He is looking for a way for me to do some online training and get paid for it while I’m stuck here at home.

I think if I had no vision he would still help me figure out a way to do the job which is a really awesome feeling. Thank God we have a Vizio TV in the wing so that we can figure out how to make it talk. Then I can just find Netflix movies for the residence like anybody else. I don’t care whether they’re descriptive or not as it might freak out some of the residents. Once their past a certain point they’re more visual than auditory. Every day we figure out a way to adapt something. The other two gals I work with are also in someway impaired. One has ADHD and she told me and the other one has kidney disease. So we just all do what we can and support each other. Very very cool!

I do not much worry about keeping the handle especially clean. I wipe it off with a hand wipe or wash it with a paper towel. So, perhaps not quite as often as I wash my hands, but fairly often. It is, for example cleaner than my door knob, the chairs, or the various plush critters in my office. Come to think of it my therapeutic games are not as clean as my white cane.

>>> Hi everyone! I started my new job and promptly got one rotten cold. Besides having one cane for personal use and an extra cane at work, how does one keep handles on straight chains sanitary? I work in assisted-living is in activity assistant so I’m on the go a lot especially since I work with dementia care. Like he tends to fall on the floor often. One can only do so much Hansina Tyser in a day. I do not plan to cave-in to a folding cancel any other suggestions? I also wonder if there’s a sidenote, the cans that slide up into the handle, sorry I forgot what they’re called, are they more sturdy than they used to be? Are used to have one and it collapsed on me all the time no matter how secure I tried to make it.
>>>
>>> Thanks for any advice everyone!
>>>
>>> On a sidenote because I came to the urgent care and I’m in Madison where they have the UW Hospitals & Clinins, a study was available to me because of my symptoms. I got 30 bucks for attempting to do a home nasal swab kit. The guy thought I gave him awesome improvement suggestions. Hopefully they can make this totally accessible to Low Vision and totally blind. I did my best guys. Nice to get paid for educating peopleonce in a while.
