Tracy,

I’m on here since I wanted to learn about what human service professionals do; I would like to be involved in serving people such as a outreach worker or activity facilitator. My goal in employment is to help people whether its directly in a human service position or indirectly behind the scenes using other skills such as being a communications assistant or development assistant.
I obtained a BA degree where I studied mostly psychology. I desire to have a job where I can use my talents although I do like helping people so something where I can help people would be great. My career might also include communications work since I like to write and present material.

The division is really diverse although most members are counselors or social workers. I suggest you just join and find out if it’s the place for you.
Does your job or future job involve direct work with people or do you mainly do office work such as research? That might help to determine whether it’s the right fit; most here seem to do direct work with their clients. That is so awesome you have an advanced degree. Those are tough to get.

As for communication, I’m sure its frustrating to feel you reached a dead end, but remember the leaders are all volunteers.

Now, speaking of involvement, can any one attend the convention Human services meeting?
I know its virtual on zoom.
When will the zoom info be announced?
I know you are collecting dues for those to become or renew membership.
But, I hope the meeting is available to anyone just like the nabs meeting is.

If not, do you have to register or pay for it?
Does anyone have the meeting agenda?
Depending on my schedule, I might be able to come to the zoom meeting.

Thanks in advance.

Ashley
