[HumanSer] Seeking Information

Hello,
One thing to remember when selecting a platform to use for your practice is to use a HIPPA compliant platform. Many platforms will state that they are HIPPA ompliant. It is the responsibility of the clinician to verify this information. It is also important to make sure that your insurance providers allow the specific platforms that you intend to use. The last thing to remember is to check with your state as to what is allowed for telepractice.
We have all worked very hard to get to this point in our careers. Let us be diligent in developing this valuable asset. The last thing you want to have happen is to have a provider not allow payment or to have a board investigate your sessions. These are challenging times. Let's keep our practices safe as well!

Warmly,

Rev. Michael “Big Dog” Abell

Hello Deborah,
Zoom is a very accessible video conferencing platform. Some mental health professionals have switched to that as well as many employers.
You can use it on the computer as well as an APP. There is also a call-in feature if the client does not have a smart phone or computer, they can simply call into the phone number of the conference you have established.

Good luck,

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
