Dear Deborah,

Thanks for your email in response to my long-awaited Hungarian piece, and I
hope that you also had a great Christmas. I guess you are in Florida right
now, though I'm not so sure it's much warmer there than here right now.

I am hoping to get my second novel well underway, if not finished, this
year. There are so many things I feel like I need to do, but I have to
prioritize, as you know.

Take care, and stay in touch,

Your friend, and proud to be so,
Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,
I've been having all manner of difficulty with various emails, probably due
to my new computer and/or my inability to cope with its mysterious ways, but
I wanted to tell you that FINALLY I have been able to read your Hungarian
Christmas piece! I couldn't read it when I think you sent it to me the
other day and I couldn't make the link from this message work either. My
success, and sweet it was, came when I called NFB Newline Christmas Day and
selected Dec. 24, and searched from the word "Hungary". And hurray! There
you were! It was such a sweetlittle piece, made all the sweeter for me by
such long anticipation. And now, here was the other sweet irony that struck
me immediately. My column for Christmas Day, just written three days ago,
had a similar theme: i.e., Christmas is for everone, not just Christians.
At any rate, wanted you to know how pleased I was to read your story at last
and how much I enjoyed reading it.
Hope yours has been and continues to be a blessed Christmas filled with
merriment.
Love,
Deborah

Friends,

I want to wish you all the blessings of holidays, of time together with
family, friends, and contemplation as this year ends and a new one begins.
Today an article I wrote came out in the Columbus Dispatch; link below.
Perhaps this story of human outreach amidst a very lonely time may add joy
to your holidays; this is my hope in sending to you.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Sammons
