Hello all, Please note that this is a list dedicated to discussing issues
pertaining to blind people and journalism.
As a long-time guide dog handler, I fully understand the concern
surrounding the Department of Transportation forms that we are required to
complete in order to fly with our service animals.
There are other email lists such as the one for the National Association of
Guide Dog Users that are better suited for this important topic.
Also, note that the National Federation of the Blind submitted a
strongly-worded and well thought out letter in January to the
Transportation secretary expressing our opposition to renewing the two DOT
forms pertaining to service animals as they are an onerous and an
unnecessary burden.
Thanks for your consideration.
