Hello, great and glorious human beings!

We have some very exciting news. The applications for the Washington Seminar funding program are now OPEN! Link to apply: https://forms.gle/eAe9CBMc16KQEVNN6

Washington Seminar takes place from Monday, February 10 to Wednesday, February 12 in Washington DC. Applications for funding are due by Sunday, December 8, 2019. In order to receive funding from the national student division, there are specific requirements that must be met, so please review the below list to ensure you are eligible and able to meet all mandatory elements. Additionally, students will be assessed for financial need on a case by case basis, with the understanding that students should seek-out alternative funding sources, including chapter/affiliate support, personal contribution, and community assistance. Please direct questions to Kenia Flores, NABS Vice President, at kenia.flores at furman.edu<mailto:kenia.flores at furman.edu>. We look forward to seeing you in our nation's capital to advocate for equality for the blind.

REQUIREMENTS
1. You must be a student during the 19-20 academic year.
2. You must be able to travel from the evening of Sunday, February 9 to the evening of Wednesday, February 12, staying at the hotel for at least those three days.
3. You must attend the 2020 NABS Winter Seminar, which takes place the morning of Monday, February 10 at the hotel.
4. You must attend the NABS/Federation social event, that takes place the evening of Monday, February 10.
5. You must actively participate in at least three congressional meetings on Tuesday, February 11 or Wednesday, February 12.
6. You must attend the Congressional reception on Tuesday, February 11 from 5:30-7:30pm.
7. You must attend the legislative training on Monday afternoon, February 10.
8. You must attend the Great Gathering In on Monday, February 10.
9. You must abide by the National Federation of the Blind Code of Conduct.
10. You must present yourself professionally at all times, with business professional attire throughout. This also means you must be aware of your surroundings, not drinking under age or, if of age, not drinking in the NABS hotel room block. Regardless, no illegal substances are permitted and funding will be pulled immediately. NABS has a 0-tolerance policy for all inappropriate behavior.
