The Victor Reader Stream will freeze your computer, in my experience,  
if you try to use the included USB cable. However, if you get an SD  
card reader with a USB port -- about $20 at any computer/electronics  
store -- then it will work just fine. You won't have a HumanWare  
Companion, but you can still copy files.

about the BrailleNote, although I think you should be able to use it  
as a braille display with no problems. I don't use braille so I can't  
tell you for sure. In any case I love my Mac...it works very well...
