Have you really googled "disabling mouse pad on HP xxxxx"? Obviously xxxx stands for your computer model. I've seen several HP laptops and there's always a quick way to disable the mouse pad because it's quite normal for anyone to accidentally touch it while typing. Just make sure there isn't a very simple way to do this...
