Congrats. I worked at DoD in Arlington last summer and just used craigslist. It was very successful. I had to pay about 1000 a month plus bills. I had 5 roommates. There may be cheaper options but considering the circumstances, it was a good experience. 

I'd also recommend you consider your commute each morning and pick the place that has the easiest commute on the DC metro. 

Also, it's very hot so pic somewhere without a bunch of walking. I'll be in DC next summer around that time as well so if you find somewhere and need roommates, let me know.
