Hello,

I will do my best to keep this brief. I am new to this list service and blindness in General. I've only been using a screen reader for about 3 years now, I lost my vision slowly to RP, and Macular Degeneration.

I am a Canadian law student attending classes at Osgoode Hall, in Toronto, Ontario. I'll be starting classes in September.
I am also interested in funding for school, and adaptive technology.

Both the NFB Scholarship and the Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship were mentioned, but I don't know how to apply for either one.

In addition to funding for school I would like to attend this years convention. As I am going into first year classes I feel this would be the best time for me to go.

Is there a way to get a scholarship from the NFB for attending the convention? - or any other funding for that matter?
I have been trying to find funding through the local service clubs such as the Lions and the Rotary clubs. Unfortunately without much success. I applied for funding through the Canadian Federation of the Blind (CFBB) but because I included in my application the need for total funding, which they were not in a position to provide to any one, my name was removed and I received no funding So, now I am still looking for funding to cover the total costs instead of just a partial amount.

And David - if I can go I would willingly be your roommate.

Lastly, the performing Arts General Members meeting is scheduled for Monday June 8th at 7:30pm. - What time zone is that?

If anyone would like to answer these questions privately, instad of on the general mailing list, my personal email is bluezinfandel at hotmail.com

Thank you.
