Hey Mikaela:

I haven't personally tested KNFB Reader for Windows yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are some significant bugs which still need to be worked out. Nothing against the developers; that's just how it is with a lot of new programs on a new platform. So I would also be interested in hearing the experiences of those who have tried it.

There is an OCR solution which is very effective but which doesn't seem to be very well-known. It's called RoboBraille, and it's entirely email-based. All you need to do is attach your PDF file to an email to convert at robobraille.org. In the subject line, type the format you want the file to be converted into, such as DOCX or TXT. Within a few minutes, RoboBraille will email the converted file back to you. This has worked very well for me on all platforms on which I've tried it and with a variety of files, including complex PDF's.

Hope this helps,

Chris Nusbaum

This app was recommended to me. However, the reviews are not great. Have any of you used cayenne FB reader for windows? If so, what has been your experience?
