Hello everyone,

My name is Justin Haegele, and I am an assistant professor in the Department of Human Movement Sciences at Old Dominion University. I am conducting a qualitative study investigating the experiences of males and females with visual impairment in physical education. We are looking at experiences that people with visual impairments have had in regard to interacting with paraprofessionals during physical education, body image as youth, and physical activity engagement outside of school. I am looking for 12 legally blind adults between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate in this study.

This study consists of an interview (60-90 minutes) conducted via phone call or Skype. Also, participants may be asked to correspond with the researcher after the completion of the interview via email. In exchange for your participation, each selected participant will receive a $20.00 gift card. All of your responses will be anonymous and confidential.

To be eligible for this study, participants must:

  *   Be legally blind

  * Be 18 years or older, but less than 35 years of age

  * Have had a visual impairment (including blindness) during their k-12 experience.

  * Participated in integrated public school physical education classes.

  * Had a paraprofessional during your physical education classes.

  * Be willing to complete an interview (via phone call or Skype) for 60-90 minutes.

  * Be willing to exchange email correspondence following the interview.

If you would like to be considered for this research study, please email me at jhaegele at odu.edu<mailto:jhaegele at odu.edu>. Not all individuals who express interest will be included in the study.
