[NABS-L] Interviewing for final project on race and racism

Hi all,

I've solidified (to an extent) what I'd like to do for the project. It
will be a presentation to my class on the concept of race-blindness,
and the role that race plays in the NFB. My goal is to come up with a
series of recommendations for the NFB, or ideas for future research
within the organization that will lead to those recommendations. While
the Code of Conduct has sparked discussion regarding sexual assault
and misconduct, we have not spoken nearly as extensively about racism.
The NFB and its members (including myself) are not exempted from
racism by any means. This project does not aim to be an exposé, but I
hope that it will be influential and thought-provoking. Of course, if
it really is the thought of the majority that the NFB is a
blindness-advocacy organization first and foremost, and that race
should play a very minimal role in our work, I want to know that as
well.

For this reason, I would like to have conversations with people who
are members, student leaders, and anyone else who might be interested.
It doesn't matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, or
what race or gender etc. you are. Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks, and I'm looking forward to some great conversations.

Best,
Cricket
