Hi Lora.
That sounds like a good approach.  You've made a decision, and you have a
timeline for giving it a try.  Come January or February, you can take a
good look at where you and Tryce are, and decide if it's working out or
not.  Just be sure you're safe, and that you have confidence in yourself
and your dog to not get you both into a dangerous situation.  If you can't
have that confidence in Tryce today, but you feel like you can deal with
it for a while, that's your choice.
Good luck.  Sometimes putting in a big effort works, and sometimes not. 
If it works for you, great!  Hats off to you!  But if it doesn't work out,
don't beat yourself up over it.  You gave it your best shot.  And if you
decide in a month or two that your team is just not making progress,
that's OK, too.
One way or another, it'll all work out.  Just be cautious while you try to
get Tryce's act together.  I wish you all the best. I've been where you
are, and it ain't easy.
