Julie, Here's a crazy idea but it might work. If you use a harness pouch of any type or if the coat has a pocket, put a fabric softener sheet in it. Then, when you take off the coat, as you slide it off with one hand, use the other underneath to slide the fabric softener sheet up and down to dissipate the static.
