Tracy,

My Merry was limping off and on for several months, and the vet was treating
her for arthritis until I finally insisted on an x-ray of her shoulder, and
there was the dreaded bone cancer.  That's a tricky one, as dogs are very
stoic, and they simply want to keep on going.

I forgot lameness.
I took Amba to two vets for lameness.  Neither of them figured out that it
was cancer making her lame, though.
But still, if another dog goes lame, I'll panic totally, then take the dog
to the vet.

Also, if one of my labs loses interest in food, he's probably in for a
doctor visit.
