[nagdu] introducing myself

Jordan,

Sorry to hear about that. I think Michael's advice is pretty solid as well.
Have you taken it above the entities to the next level and filed a complaint
with the appropriate Federal agency? The AmTrak situation is horrible, and
equally Greyhound. You might want to just contact the FTA and talk with
their Civil Rights division. At least, it's a start. I really hope you can
get some answers for these inexcusable acts of discrimination.

Steve,
I'm a little annoyed with Marion at the moment because he refused to do
anything about a major violation at the university I was going to be
attending. I ended up staying put at the university I am now because of it,
and fortunately, I was able to get guide dogs for the Blind to take care of
it. I remained at the current university since I have only a few more
quarters. Seeing Eye wouldn't help out either, and since they were giving
me so much trouble when I kept having problems with my first dog, I went to
GDB for my second, and they've been more than helpful.

Jordan,
You may want to discuss this more with the NAGDU President Marion. I can
tell you that you will get a heck of a lot more answers than you are now.

BTW, my name is Steve and I am working my 3rd Leader Dog. I live in
Wisconsin right along the Mississippi River.

Welcome,
Steve & Misha

Hello,

I am just now getting around to joinging this list. I live in Louisiana and
have been a guide dog user for over 4 years. One question, what do you did
if a Greyhound driver refuses to let you on the bus or insists that you go
to the back of the bus? The latter I promptly took care of by sitting down
and not moving and then getting a hold of Greyhound once I got to where I
was going. I had an issue the last time I road Amtrak where I was denied
access to the dining car. What do I do in that situation, and I sent a
lengthy e-mail to them, but no response as of yet.

Thanks,

Jordan Gallacher
