I don't think people think we are somewhere down below trailer trash. Their sympathy, fear, and considerations are misdirected. And yes, we do have to have a lot of confidence in ourselves, because whether or not we like it, we are treated like second class citizens. It is up to us, both together as a part of the NFB, and separately, to continue changing what it means to be blind.
