[nagdu] Strategies For Dealing With Mental Midgets

No arguments from me on your points and methods. Despite what I have said
in past message, I don't bring out the fireworks unless I can tell that
regular conversation ain't workin'. So many blind folks are either not
aware, or forget that body language--posture, facing the person to whom you
are speaking, even a friendly smile, etc goes a long long way in any
negotiating. Being totally blind from birth, if my eyes move at all, it
ain't cause I done it on purpose and I think anyone totally blind from birth
should have help without blame or guilt-tripping in developing as much eye
control as possible (boy, that's a whole other list isn't it?) I wear
"fashion" sun glasses which I started when I was about 30, thanks to some
very skilled and gentle persuasion from an ophthalmologist girlfriend; what
a huge difference my glasses make in terms of avoiding the initial shock and
giving me enough credibility to start communication on an equal basis. By
the time things register with the other person, they know I have a little
more intelligence than a carrot.

Indeed, a prime reason for the cell phone with camera is to take pictures
and movies when necessary--interfering people, being refused service, and
other related joys. As I've said elsewhere/previously, I helped with the
implementation of a service animal protection act passed by our Manitoba
Legislature. I did send out a PDF attachment and I admit being disappointed
that there was not more discussion and questions.

Doug: why use a pen knife when a sword is so much more effective!
