Gloria:

We on the list, sometimes come across different then we would be in a regular coversation, Rebecca is a nice person, just giving advice and asking questions that is all, we don't know what you have gone through we can only emphasize what you went through, and all of us have gone through what you are thinking one time or another.

But we are like a family, and we as NAGDU, and hopefully you will be fighting with us on issues, and also finding out what is correct and what isn't, it will take a while to feel each other out. But remember in writing e-mails a lot of time, the words are there but they don't have the same meaning until you talk to the person face to face or on the phone.

  Hi Rebecca,
I am just reading your message. I believe you questioned my getting a dog if
I was concerned with receiving negative reactions from others. I feel you
must know I did a lot of research before I decided to go through the process
of getting a guide dog. It is not something I woke up morning and decided to
do. I feel as guide users there are many things one should keep in mind and
wonder about and public reactions are one of those things. I just wanted to
talk to others so that I could better prepare myself. I thought this cite
was to have others to talk to about things that might concern me since many
of you have had your guides for some time. I guess I was wrong because my
decision to become a guide user is being questioned based off a few concerns
I had. I think it would be a bit irresponsible as a handler to not question
  things like public perception.
