[nagdu] Service Dog Forced To Ride In Taxi Trunk

I can honestly say that I would never, ever place my dog in a trunk of a car
nor would I leave him/her in a car while I went into somewhere else. I
understand the dog owner was running late but call whom ever she was
supposed to be meeting and reschedule or something, in my opinion, and it's
just my opinion, that is not a decision a good dog owner would have made. I
would not put any of my animals, children, any living thing in the trunk of
a car, that isn't a choice that is common sense, sorry if I offended anyone.
I'm sorry the cab driver wouldn't let the dog in the car, I'm glad he was
suspended, but under no circumstances should she have placed the dog in the
trunk.

This is crazy. There is absolutely no circumstance in which I would allow
this to happen. Living in New Orleans we have lots of access issues with
cabs, and I have been asked this before also. I usually latch on to the
door of the cab or something, and if they want to make an issue out of it
they can call their dispatcher, or the police and confirm that this is the
law, or I will call for them. I can't believe the nerve of some people.
Asking you to stuff your service dog in the trunk like a piece of luggage?
Absolutely outrageous!

I asked for strength that I might rear her perfectly;
I was given weakness that I might feed her more treats.

I asked for good health that I might rest easy;
I was given a "special needs" dog that I might know nurturing.

I asked for an obedient dog that I might feel proud;
I was given stubbornness that I might feel humble.

I asked for compliance that I might feel masterful;
I was given a clown that I might laugh.

I asked for a companion that I might not feel lonely;
I was given a best friend that I would feel loved.

I got nothing I asked for,
But everything that I needed.
