[nagdu] How Often to Bathe Your Dog was Re: AT PILOT :)

I do know that huskies for sled dog use are hardly ever bathed at all. The
idea is that the oils they produce help water proof underneath there fur.
As a result, they often smell and feel rather greasy. I have a biology
background so I'll try to find refference in the next couple of weeks but I
believe it depends on the dog breed, fur or hair, and skin conditions that
may exist. I notice for example that poodles and there mixes tend not to
have such a strong "doggie odor" than some other dogs. But there hair tends
to gather mor stuff in it. Of cours all bets are off when rolling and
snooping are involved! My daughter has a little Jack Russell and bathes the
thing a couple times a week. I think that's way too much but who am I!
Good groomers and vets can tell you what kind of shampoo to use and how
often its recommended.
